Spoiler-Free Synopsis:
When two teammates strike up an unexpectedly close friendship, neither of them is prepared for how quickly things start to blur. What begins as easy banter, shared time, and undeniable chemistry slowly turns into something deeper, something harder to ignore.
As their bond grows, both are forced to question what they want, what they’re afraid of, and whether risking their friendship is worth the chance at something more.
My Thoughts / Review:
Bromantic Puckboy is such a satisfying addition to the series, especially as a later installment where the friendships, team dynamics, and overall world feel really established. Listening to this one on audiobook made it even better—the banter, the emotional tension, and those softer moments all felt more immersive and natural.
This book leans heavily into the friends-to-lovers dynamic, and it does it so well. There’s a comfort between the characters from the beginning that makes everything feel grounded, but that also raises the stakes emotionally. Bilson and Miles have a fun dynamic! You can feel the hesitation, the “what if we ruin this?” energy, which makes every shift in their relationship more impactful.
What I really appreciated is how intentional the emotional development feels. This isn’t rushed, it’s layered, built on trust, shared history, and the slow realization that maybe what they’ve had all along wasn’t just friendship. The humor is still there (as always with this series), but it’s balanced with a lot of heart.
Coming off Clueless Puckboy, which gave me my top couple (Ari and Vance 👀), this one holds its own in a different way. It’s softer, more reflective, and really leans into emotional connection over chaos. It’s the kind of story that sneaks up on you and then leaves you feeling completely satisfied by the end.
Would I Recommend It?
Definitely. If you love friends-to-lovers, emotional slow burns, and strong character connections, this is a great read (or listen). It’s a perfect addition to the series and a really solid way to continue the Puckboys journey.
Favorite Moment Highlight:
A quiet moment where the line between friendship and something more finally blurs, simple, honest, and full of tension in the best way.
