Spoiler-Free Synopsis:
Dexy is the definition of chaotic energy fun, impulsive, and always living in the moment. As a professional hockey player, he’s used to getting away with his antics, both on and off the ice. But when his behavior starts to cross a line, he’s forced into damage control and that includes spending time with someone who sees right through him.
Tripp is steady, responsible, and not at all impressed by Dexy’s reputation. What begins as frustration and forced proximity slowly turns into something neither of them planned. As they navigate clashing personalities and unexpected chemistry, both men are pushed to confront who they are versus who they want to be.
My Thoughts / Review:
Irresponsible Puckboy brings a different energy to the series, more chaotic, more playful, but still grounded in emotional growth. Dexy is a lot in the best way. He’s messy, impulsive, and often uses humor to deflect, but underneath all of that is someone who’s still figuring himself out. Watching those layers peel back over time was one of my favorite parts of the book.
Tripp is the perfect counterbalance. He’s calm, composed, and not easily swayed by Dexy’s charm, which makes their dynamic so fun to watch. The tension between them feels natural, especially as it shifts from irritation to understanding to something deeper. Their relationship builds in a way that feels earned, with both characters having to meet somewhere in the middle.
What stands out in this book is the growth. It’s not just about falling in love, it’s about accountability, maturity, and learning how to show up for someone else. The humor keeps things light, but there’s a solid emotional core that gives the story weight.
While Ezra and Anton still hold a special place (because honestly… top-tier couple), Dexy and Tripp bring a different kind of charm to the series. Their journey feels a bit messier, a bit more chaotic but also really rewarding.
Would I Recommend It?
Definitely. If you love opposites-attract, forced proximity, and character growth wrapped in humor and hockey, this is a great follow-up in the series. It’s fun, emotional, and keeps the Puckboys momentum going strong.

Favorite Moment Highlight:
A moment where Dexy’s usual humor drops and he shows genuine vulnerability, it completely shifts the dynamic and makes everything feel more real.
